news from nashville!

WOW! What a trip to Nashville! Not only did we get a lot accomplished, we met a lot of great people! *The Tracy Byrd show Wednesday night was fabulous! Nothing like having front row, center seats for the evening! Watching and listening to Tracy sing hit after hit helped me remember why I love to sing his songs, and why he's considered a superstar in the country music world! *The time in the studio Thursday with my producer Tom Paden was cool. We got some pre-session stuff done, and we had the opportunity to meet one of Tom's best friends in Nashville Eddie Kilgallon. Eddie is an exceptional singer/songwriter and actually was a co-writer on George Strait's #1 hit song "One Night At A Time" (which stayed at the top of the charts for 5 weeks!). Beyond the fact that Eddie has those incredible talents, he's also the keyboard/piano player for country mega-stars Montgomery Gentry! I will be recording a song or two of Eddie's on my next CD. *Friday was kick-back time (or at least we thought) and we spent the day in downtown Nashville visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame and various honky tonks in town. It's a pretty cool deal when you're touring the Hall of Fame, minding your own business, and someone recognizes you from the MySpace site! I guess that's a step in the right direction! We grabbed a beer and took in a few of the live music venues in town, and somehow I got called to the stage at the world famous Nashville place Tootsie's(www.tootsies.net) to do a couple of songs. It was awesome (we kicked butt!), and I don't think I payed for another drink the rest of the night (even the bartenders bought some rounds)!! We've got some pictures posted here at the website (http://www.jerrycountry.com/photos.html) from the trip, so I hope you enjoy them. *I'll actually be hitting the studio in April or May, and we expect to have the CD produced, mastered, and ready to go by late May or the beginning of June!
